I write.<\/p>\n<p><em>You what?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I write, you know? Words? Pens? Paper?<\/p>\n<p><em>Well, I never. You write for a living?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Not much of a living out of it, but yes, I write.<\/p>\n<p><em>So, is your handwriting great then?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>No no, I write stories, you know.<\/p>\n<p><em>Oh aye, sure you do. Tell me another one.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Truly, I write poems, stories, articles, novels.<\/p>\n<p><em>And you do this\u2026 because\u2026?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Well, because I want to.<\/p>\n<p><em>Why?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Oh hell, because that\u2019s what I do.<\/p>\n<p>Like a dancer dances, a singer sings, a doctor\u2026<\/p>\n<p><em>A doctor cures people. What do you do?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I can cure people too.<\/p>\n<p>My words can shock you out of stupor.<\/p>\n<p>They can turn black and white into colour.<\/p>\n<p>They can thrill the chill ill out of you.<\/p>\n<p>They can make you weep at the beauty of the wild.<\/p>\n<p>Or notice the innocence of a child.<\/p>\n<p>They can turn the ignorant into a saint.<\/p>\n<p>We are the ones who can paint<\/p>\n<p>new futures for mankind,<\/p>\n<p>but not leave history behind.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Come to me when you\u2019re lonely and sad,<\/p>\n<p>I promise I\u2019ll have words to heal.<\/p>\n<p>Bring your bitter heart to me,<\/p>\n<p>I can help to make it feel.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>But, what if they don\u2019t?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>What if I like my phone better<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>than your poetry or your letter?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well, then I will have to eat my words, wont I?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prompt Thirteen \u2013 Text Prompt Describe your profession through a funny\/humorous poem. &nbsp; Aye, Write! &nbsp; A Fighter?
