Twenty Roadrunners<\/p>\n
(Based on the poem \u201cTwenty Froggies\u201d by George Cooper)<\/p>\n
Twenty roadrunners went to school
\nWhere the desert heat is cruel
\nTwenty feather coats so trim
\nTwenty tails so straight and prim<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are responsible,\u201d said they.
\n\u201cRespectful and safe in every way;
\nThis is what we know is true
\nAt our school of Pleasant View.\u201d\t<\/p>\n
All the teachers, kind but firm
\nGave the chicks a lot to learn
\nTaught them how to read and write
\nAnd found their students very bright<\/p>\n
Taught them math and science too
\nWere proud of how the small chicks grew
\nSaw them leave for bigger things
\nRoadrunners now could spread their wings<\/p>\n

\nThe prompt made me think of the poem Twenty Froggies. I decided to borrow that format, but write it about my school Pleasant View with our mascot the Roadrunners.
