“Lahaina…”<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Where to begin<\/p>\n of such ends …such ends.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A confluence of events…<\/p>\n and a town is gone.<\/p>\n Yet another place that ISN’T …anymore.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Fire on a California scale<\/p>\n worst of the century…<\/p>\n and the Media is just crickets.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Go fund me’s? – silence<\/p>\n Red Cross Pleas – silence<\/p>\n Doctors, supplies… silence.<\/p>\n Government aid and supplies?\u00a0 Biden “No Comment”,<\/p>\n A final visit – a joke on how hot the ground still was.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The area is cordoned off by fence (newly emplaced) and curtained as well… a lot of money and labor went into that and victims still remain in and of the ash.\u00a0 Mustn’t pause or stop or see or question any how or whys …or even to cry.\u00a0 No journalists allowed, nor pics to view.\u00a0 No memorials.\u00a0 No answers …just crickets worldwide.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Maui… Lahaina a past capital<\/p>\n incinerated… ashes to ashes.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The school district reported 3100 children<\/p>\n sent home to be alone.<\/p>\n More than two weeks – 2,000 still missing –<\/p>\n and they’ve a name for each number.\u00a0 Quite for real.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A FIRE so fierce barely bits survived…<\/p>\n And yet living weeds NEXT to melted trunks?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The power first off – yet in places stayed on.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n No warning sirens sounded, no TV\/phone alerts, no evac,<\/p>\n calls or orders, no bull horns or officials riding the roads.<\/p>\n The water turned off, police barricaded the two exits<\/p>\n and turned would be survivors back upon themselves<\/p>\n and those cars WERE immolated ON THE ROAD<\/p>\n where they stood – occupied by victims, DNA found.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 115 the governor’s total and 335 still unfound<\/p>\n and yet 2,000 “missing” children – named and recorded<\/p>\n by their empty schools.\u00a0 And the silence echoes LOUD.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Relief\u00a0 was unallowed<\/p>\n – people snuck in what they could.<\/p>\n Victims jumped into the ocean<\/p>\n and the sea carried many away.<\/p>\n Tears whisper as the waves lap the shore…<\/p>\n for all the little souls – walking their island,<\/p>\n lost and forever alone…<\/p>\n and only the silence cares.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Chris,<\/p>\n (C) Chris Twyford 9\/2\/2023<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hour 15 9\/2\/2023 “Lahaina…” Where to begin of such ends …such ends.
