\nfrom Home Depot for 2 cases
\nof Grape Gloss spray paint.
\nPopular color, they never have
\nenough in the store; I ordered it
\nshipped to the store one time
\nand an employee sold all 12 cans
\nbefore I could pick them up.
\nEasy order, ships in a few days.<\/p>\n
I go about my life then realize
\nI never got the paint. Next day,
\nUPS leaves a sticky note on my door.
\nSorry we missed you, be back tomorrow.
\nExcept I wouldn\u2019t be home. I call, get
\na runaround, next day, get another note.
\nA little threatening, sending my order
\nback if I don\u2019t sign for it. Sign for it?
\nI call, another waste of time.<\/p>\n
Spray paint, do they think I am a child,
\na teenager set to paint our neighborhood
\ngloss grape? I\u2019m anxious, want to paint
\nporch flower pots, deck tables, things
\nI want purple. Finally, I get someone
\non the phone who promises the driver
\nwill be to me at 8 the next morning.<\/p>\n
I set the alarm, go outside to prune roses,
\nweed gardens until he gets there, except
\nhe doesn\u2019t. Two hours later it is raining.
\nI give up and go do my errands. A final
\nthreat stuck to my door. I lose my cool,
\nscream and threaten them. Next day,
\nI see the driver pull up; I secure the dogs
\nto open the door and sign and he waves
\nme off, tells me he\u2019ll sign it for me,
\nsmiles and leaves.<\/p>\n
Hmm, why couldn\u2019t the other driver
\ndo that? Still annoyed, next time
\nI order it, I\u2019ll request FedEx; I think
\nthey will understand. After all,
\ntheir logo is part purple.<\/p>\n
