Hour 17<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Whispers…”<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mid-naught…<\/p>\n

and my breath HOLDS.<\/p>\n

Eyes startle,<\/p>\n

wander, focus…<\/p>\n

Search, I can see each movement,<\/p>\n

each passing pause and restart.<\/p>\n

I can hear each “tick” – feel …each… tick.<\/p>\n

Sense as the second hand sweeps<\/p>\n

round and around the face.<\/p>\n

I FEEL the THUNK of the minute<\/p>\n

as it falls into the present<\/p>\n

and my heartbeat mirrors the intensity.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Midnight<\/p>\n

electric hum<\/p>\n

the chime of the portent comes alive…<\/p>\n

and my legs move<\/p>\n

bedclothes rustle –<\/p>\n

feet find their home within leather wraps.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Coffee beckons<\/p>\n

and the kitchen table awaits…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Midnight, just another day in paradise.<\/p>\n
