{"id":140368,"date":"2023-09-03T02:57:56","date_gmt":"2023-09-03T06:57:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=140368"},"modified":"2023-09-03T07:53:47","modified_gmt":"2023-09-03T11:53:47","slug":"visits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2023\/09\/visits\/","title":{"rendered":"Visits  (Prompt 18)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The veil is thin between here, now<br \/>\nthere and now, there and then<br \/>\nI have been visited from whatever<br \/>\nmight be termed the other side<br \/>\nbenevolent, mischievous, timely<br \/>\nencounters I have come to appreciate<\/p>\n<p>There are things we cannot see<br \/>\nunexplainable, palpable<br \/>\nmoments in time; visits from<br \/>\npeople I have known<br \/>\nothers I have not<br \/>\nsome I am not at all sure of<br \/>\nwe never converse<br \/>\nthough I often hear<br \/>\nfrequently respond<\/p>\n<p>What separates here and now<br \/>\nphysical, tangible<br \/>\ntouch it with your hands now<br \/>\nis something within each of us<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t know who, don\u2019t grasp why<br \/>\nnot even sure that I am supposed to<br \/>\nif I say I am haunted<br \/>\npeople will back away<br \/>\nthough haunt only means<br \/>\nto be visited<br \/>\nto constantly seek the company of<br \/>\nto reappear continually<br \/>\nso sayeth Merriam-Webster <\/p>\n<p>To say I am haunted by the past is<br \/>\nnot up for debate<br \/>\nis not meant to show angst<br \/>\nit only means I get it<br \/>\neven when I don\u2019t <\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Mark L.
