{"id":140444,"date":"2023-09-03T03:18:26","date_gmt":"2023-09-03T07:18:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=140444"},"modified":"2023-09-30T17:53:11","modified_gmt":"2023-09-30T21:53:11","slug":"hour-19-i-have-never-run-a-marathon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2023\/09\/hour-19-i-have-never-run-a-marathon\/","title":{"rendered":"Hour 19- I Have Never Run a Marathon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have never run a Marathon,<\/p>\n<p>but I written through a few.<\/p>\n<p>I have struggled through the last miles.<\/p>\n<p>My legs and back aching.<\/p>\n<p>Newfound self-hatred.<\/p>\n<p>Marathoners of the running kind<\/p>\n<p>have water passed to them.<\/p>\n<p>I am responsible for my own coffee and food.<\/p>\n<p>And yes, I am drinking some water.<\/p>\n<p>I am making a point to do so.<\/p>\n<p>I have never run a marathon.<\/p>\n<p>I have never pushed to come in second or 90th or 275th.<\/p>\n<p>But I have pushed through poems.<\/p>\n<p>Lots of them,<\/p>\n<p>sword fighting Muses,<\/p>\n<p>jumping over thesauruses,<\/p>\n<p>searching for inner strength and inner will<\/p>\n<p>in an aching soul.<\/p>\n<p>I have written marathons.<\/p>\n<p>Tried to find new subjects,<\/p>\n<p>new focuses,<\/p>\n<p>new ways of doing old things.<\/p>\n<p>I have never run a marathon,<\/p>\n<p>but I know what it feels like<\/p>\n<p>to be engulfed in one.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have never run a Marathon, but I written through a few.
