Our first dog, Klondike, wore a blue collar.
\nOur second dog, Xerox, wore a red collar.<\/p>\n
Our third dog, Nestle, wore a purple collar.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s only took me 36 years to realize
\nwe followed the formula red + blue = purple.<\/p>\n
Some years back, our neighbor
\ncalled to say our driveway was purple.<\/p>\n
I thought someone, knowing my favor
\nfor purple, spilled paint as a practical joke.<\/p>\n
We went out, looking for purple
\nwhen neighbor came over, laughing,<\/p>\n
pointing at our trucks. Paul\u2019s was red,
\nand that week, I picked up my blue one \u2013<\/p>\n
I should have seen that coming.
\nBetter than a purple painted driveway.<\/p>\n
When I ran out of purple food coloring
\nI made more icing by mixing blue and red.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m so glad I paid attention in art class
\nfor formulas I could follow.<\/p>\n
