you’re waltzing with memory and<\/p>\n
you wouldn’t even have that power<\/p>\n

now that I’ve written about you and<\/p>\n
used your name in a way much more<\/p>\n
directly than your song scavenger hunts<\/p>\n
and unoriginal bastardized codes –<\/p>\n

which I suppose also isn’t saying much<\/p>\n
I’ve been cast into the eye of forever<\/p>\n
by many a drunken artist – a want to be<\/p>\n
promise – a story that never dared to<\/p>\n
grow into anything other than what-if.<\/p>\n

And before you say it – I am not a calmaity<\/p>\n
I am not chaos or order or anything worth<\/p>\n
defining in such ways but I am also far more<\/p>\n
concrete than anyone seems to acknowledge.<\/p>\n

I am certain someday you’ll taste paradise<\/p>\n
and realize you’ll never get so close as me – again.<\/p>\n

But also you’re far too interesting for the world<\/p>\n
to be rid of completely when age comes<\/p>\n
swooping in for not just one dance – but eternity.<\/p>\n
