In the bathroom,<\/p>\n<p>it\u2019s probably poetry \u2013 Peter Meinke,<\/p>\n<p>Maya Angelou, Billy Collins, Pat Parker.<\/p>\n<p>Music will substitute, if driving<\/p>\n<p>(Roseanne Cash, \u201cMiss the<\/p>\n<p>Mississippi and You,\u201d most recently)<\/p>\n<p>but even then, it\u2019s good to have Eudora<\/p>\n<p>Welty\u2019s voice, reading her own memoir.<\/p>\n<p>If I ever go blind, I\u2019ll have to have somebody<\/p>\n<p>around, reading to me on request or else a button<\/p>\n<p>to push, and have instant nutrition of the mind.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Morning Ritual First thing every morning I pick up the first book and dive in.
