{"id":141107,"date":"2023-09-03T04:50:01","date_gmt":"2023-09-03T08:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=141107"},"modified":"2023-09-03T04:50:01","modified_gmt":"2023-09-03T08:50:01","slug":"book-of-lists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2023\/09\/book-of-lists\/","title":{"rendered":"Book of Lists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My brain is magnetically predisposed to lists.<br \/>\nOut of thin air, I will new lists into being of items<br \/>\nno one but myself has a curiosity.<br \/>\nOne day, it was apartment movies.<br \/>\nAnother, it was directors who married their leading ladies.<br \/>\nMy favorite was my wishlist for <em>Hot Ones<\/em> guests.<br \/>\nLooking at my daybook for January,<br \/>\nI see that I started a list of potential Oscar Hosts &#8211;<br \/>\nand, maybe I&#8217;d had a glass or two of wine because among my wish hosts<br \/>\nwere &#8220;extras from <em>Seinfeld<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The sense of overdrive for accumulating<br \/>\nunrequested minutia is the last refuge left<br \/>\nfor the 21st century. Or, so that&#8217;s the conceit.<\/p>\n<p>Everything has been accomplished<br \/>\nso now all that&#8217;s left is to catalogue it.<\/p>\n<p>Will the end of the world<br \/>\nbe a flash, or will it be a slow collapse<br \/>\nthat finds us accelerating our lists for a<br \/>\nmemory no longer required?<\/p>\n<p>Note to self: List all my favorite disaster flicks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My brain is magnetically predisposed to lists.
