nor their shoes,<\/p>\n
or the style of their hair.<\/p>\n
Clothed in the armor of God-<\/p>\n
And the garments of praise<\/p>\n
perhaps bowing in silence,<\/p>\n
or shouting, hands raised.<\/p>\n
Not a matter of clothing,<\/p>\n
but the best we might bring,<\/p>\n
as we gather to bow<\/p>\n
before Savior and King.<\/p>\n
Yet each saintly lady<\/p>\n
who squirms in her pew,<\/p>\n
when the speaker speaks long,<\/p>\n
as they often do\u2014<\/p>\n
Isn\u2019t thinking of kickoff\u2014<\/p>\n
as he winds up his speech\u2014<\/p>\n
or the roast in the oven<\/p>\n
not sand at the beach,<\/p>\n
not even how hot<\/p>\n
it\u2019s gonna be in the car\u2014<\/p>\n
she\u2019s itchin\u2019 for ditchin\u2019 that<\/p>\n
push-up,<\/p>\n
underwire,<\/p>\n
