Another night
\nSo much on my mind
\nGod please take it away.
\nPlease don’t make me think
\nabout it once again<\/p>\n
You win God
\nI’ll think about it
\nonce more
\nand pray again
\nit touches someone’s life<\/p>\n
I reflect on the things
\nthat I’ve done
\nThings that I’m not proud of
\naddictions I’ve faced<\/p>\n
Why did I suffer the addiction
\nthat I had
\nwhy did I have to fight so hard
\njust to stay alive
\nWhy was I so ashamed
\nto talk to you
\nwhen it was bad<\/p>\n
You took me out of myself
\nmade me step away from it
\nall
\njust so I could see what it was
\ndoing to me<\/p>\n
Thank you Jesus
\nFor showing me
\nfor teaching me
\nguiding me
\ncaring for me<\/p>\n
Thank you
\nthat I\u2019m not the same
\nperson that I was
\nthat I’m still alive
\nstill here
\nstill hoping
\nthat my story reaches
\nsomeone in need<\/p>\n
Sometimes I wonder
\ndoes my story ever reach
\nanyone, touch anyone
\nI guess it’s something I
\nmay never know<\/p>\n
I pray that my story
\ntouches someone
\nthat needs to hear the
\nmessage imbedded in
\nthe story of my life<\/p>\n
I may have stopped
\nthe addiction that consumed
\nmy life
\nmy thoughts
\nmy words and actions
\nmyself
\nBut I didn’t do it alone<\/p>\n
Too often we say to ourselves
\n‘look, I’ve pulled myself away from
\nthis addiction’
\nor this behavior
\nbut did we really do it on our own?
\nor is that what we like to say to
\nmake ourselves feel better
\nwhen we know we didn’t <\/p>\n
Or was there someone who had a
\npurpose for the suffering that we
\nwent through to get to where we are
\nat this moment in time<\/p>\n
I believe that jesus has a reason
\nfor the sufferings we go through
\nthere is a purpose in the suffering
\nthat I faced
\nthat we all faced at one time or another<\/p>\n
I don’t know what it is
\nneither do you or anyone else
\nBut isn’t that part of the mystery
\nof life’s ride.
\nGoing on a journey where you don’t
\nknow where you’ll end up<\/p>\n
Again I say
\nThank you Jesus
\nfor loving me
\nfor rescuing me
\nfor showing me
\nthe way to get clean
\nso I’m no longer dirty
\nand in danger of dying in hell
\nfor the sins I’ve committed
\nagainst you<\/p>\n
Take my life and use it
\nall for your purpose
\nanything you want I’ll do it
\njust to know that you are
