NURSING SCHOOL<\/p>\n
I recently finished a nursing course
\nand I’m on my way to getting qualified.
\nEverything seems so exciting and scary.
\nOh! the opportunities and experiences awaiting me.
\nI still can’t believe it
\nI AM ON THE OTHER SIDE.
\nThe learning cultivated my curiosity and my intelligence.
\nThe look of suffering on a patient’s face gave me the strength and courage
\nto experience difficult and uncomfortable feelings.
\nI toiled and worked hard
\nMany sleepless nights
\nWith my anxiety and fears
\nKeeping me company.
\nBut my sacrifices and resilience
\nPaved the way for my hard work
\nHard work translated into results.
\nI tried, I failed, I got back up and dusted myself.
\nI am bettering myself for myself.
\nI am a better person than what I used to be.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
People always said, you work very hard.
\nYou are overdoing it.
\nI like the way you study.
\nI kept getting mixed comments
\nThat’s all good and well.
\nI learned in those times
\nTo stay true to myself
\nAs I know myself better than anyone.
\nI didn’t just survive, I thrived
\nOn the self encouragement my passion drew out of me
\nand resilience with which I get things done.<\/p>\n
I learned to stand up for myself and look out for myself
\nnever been a crowd pleaser
\nalways took the hard way out.
\nThat strengthened my character and made me ambitious.<\/p>\n
Weather battered though I may be,
\nI am a warrior, I am strong, I am learning,
\nI am killing old versions of myself
\nthat don’t serve a purpose in my future and my goals.
\nThey cannot inhabit me anymore.<\/p>\n
My strength and belief in myself hard carried me through.
