I cut an onion<\/p>\n

And I nearly cried<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Not because I was cutting onions, mind you<\/p>\n

But I heard the sound echo<\/p>\n

Through my new big kitchen<\/p>\n

I felt space around me<\/p>\n

That I never had in my previous tiny kitchen<\/p>\n

And in that moment<\/p>\n

When the knife clicked against the cutting board<\/p>\n

I heard her<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That girl I used to be<\/p>\n

The girl I was ten years ago<\/p>\n

The girl who was happy<\/p>\n

The girl I’ve been trying to find for the last five months<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And I finally found her<\/p>\n

In a kitchen<\/p>\n

Cutting an onion<\/p>\n

And I nearly cried<\/p>\n
