Let\u2019s begin at the beginning
\nBecause there\u2019s no other place to start.
\nAt least for us lame humans.
\nThat only have one heart.<\/p>\n
We must live time in order.
\nFrom day to day to day.
\nAlways moving forward
\nNo matter what we say.<\/p>\n
At least that\u2019s true in real life
\nWhere everything makes sense.
\nBut in books and poems and stories
\nThere isn\u2019t even a fence<\/p>\n
Writers can jump from past to present to future
\nFollow a little red line
\nAnd just do whatever they please.
\nBut only in the pages sewn into a spine.<\/p>\n
Despite all of their freedom,
\nBooks still have to start.
\nEspecially for us humans
