Silence falls tonight, <\/span>my eyes unable to see <\/span><\/span>my lovely silver orb of light.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I see no heavens, no earth, no beacons of light,<\/span><\/h4>\n

shining from millions of miles away<\/span><\/h4>\n

<\/span>in the celestial seas of unknown delights.<\/span><\/h4>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

So many unknowns I\u2019ve dreamt about, <\/span>happily lost in their impossibilities.<\/span><\/h4>\n

But tonight I do not dream –\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

not of raspberry Milky Ways\u00a0<\/span>or earthly endeavors.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Silence has fallen,\u00a0<\/span>within and without,<\/span><\/h4>\n

and I\u2019ve drifted to some place I do not know,\u00a0<\/span>do not recognize, <\/span><\/h4>\n

and yet I know how the drifting will end.<\/span><\/h4>\n

<\/h4>\n

The blessing of knowing too often is a curse.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The silence within\u00a0<\/span>comes in blessed dulcet tones,\u00a0<\/span>t<\/span>hat indeed can be heard,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

as if bliss kissed my lips <\/span>with a rich and sweet Merlot.<\/span><\/h4>\n

But the silence from without\u00a0<\/span>echoes like a cavernous roar,\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

forcing their bitter herbs down my throat,\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

reminding me of a truth I wish I could forget.<\/span><\/h4>\n

But truth is forever.<\/span><\/h4>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

I drift now,\u00a0<\/span>wishing hazily that I could bend\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and move through time.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Where I could change the unsavory memories <\/span><\/h4>\n

and keep the incandescent moments,<\/span><\/h4>\n

every moment I floated <\/span>on pure happiness and joy.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I remember you –<\/span><\/h4>\n

every face, every voice, every smile.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I caught you as you blinked <\/span>and tucked you inside my heart.<\/span><\/h4>\n

You do not know how much love <\/span>my heart holds f<\/span>or you –<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

you cannot know.<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

Indeed love is a double edged sword, <\/span><\/h4>\n

and as I pull it from my heart to give to you,\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

I feel the stinging void <\/span>of all those I\u2019ve had to leave behind.<\/span><\/h4>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

I smile through burning tears\u2026<\/span><\/h4>\n

understanding\u2026 always understanding.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I drift upwards now, <\/span>hovering above the undulating masses, <\/span>and I know.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I live, I dream, I love.<\/span><\/h4>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

Only I know how this drifting ends.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The Milky Way still waits for me <\/span>to taste its raspberry sweetness.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The silence will linger <\/span>as I drift further\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

from the silver, dusty orb I long to stand upon.\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

This bliss, the only kiss I shall know,\u00a0<\/span>too drunk upon its wine, <\/span><\/h4>\n

to mourn never knowing his lips,\u00a0<\/span>though freed from the screaming room.\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

I shall linger <\/span>and awake to the chaos of the day.<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n
