I picked up the vintage wingtips at a thrift store<\/span><\/p>\n

They were used of course<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The leather was well kept, polished<\/span><\/p>\n

Soft and in excellent condition<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The soles had been warn smooth<\/span><\/p>\n

And the laces were tattered and thin<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As I looked closer<\/span><\/p>\n

The bottom of the right shoe was worn more<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It looked as though the wearer<\/span><\/p>\n

Had constantly had a load to carry<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t help but wonder<\/span><\/p>\n

About the story of these shoes<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Who had been the owner?<\/span><\/p>\n

What was his life?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I knew that he was hard working<\/span><\/p>\n

From the wear<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Responsible and grateful<\/span><\/p>\n

From the care<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And frugal<\/span><\/p>\n

From the laces<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But most interesting is what I could tell<\/span><\/p>\n
