I follow the lead of my ancestors
\nwho committed epics to stone, via
\nhammers, chisels, sharp rocks
\nstories, histories endure, still studied<\/p>\n
my people wrote on reindeer skins
\nwith intricate threads and techniques
\ntold elaborate tales on functional
\nvessels of iron and pewter they cast<\/p>\n
their exploits recorded in a language
\nthey invented, refined, exported as they
\ntraveled far and wide on their advanced
\nskills as sailors, navigators, explorers<\/p>\n
I follow the lead of my forbearers in
\ncataloging heroic acts, far-flung journeys
\nthough my skills in rune stone carving
\nare minimal, rusty, highly unrefined<\/p>\n
In the spirit of those who came before me
\nI blaze new trails through an ether of HTML
\nletters far more impressive when chiseled
\ncrisply, weathered into Scandinavian granite<\/p>\n
I am a different man for a different time
\nI am what my forefathers were; adventurous,
\ncurious, willing to take chances to pursue\u2026?
\ncreatively, with purpose and great daring<\/p>\n
from my chair, at a desk, far less stressfully
\non a sleek slab of plastic-encased electronics,
\ncharacters struck with unerring precision
\nby multiple flying chisels disguised as fingers<\/p>\n
My words lack the gravity of those etched
\nlaboriously in intricately carved stones though I
\nremain secure in my comfort, mindful of the
\nfact that my ancestors possessed no delete key<\/p>\n
