Portal<\/p>\n
An archway, a portal,
\nHidden doorway in a secret garden.
\nTouching my hand to the trees lining the path,
\nI step across its boundaries.<\/p>\n
I enter another world,
\nOf stone and ice and wind,
\nJust five steps further,
\nAnd I lose sight of the way back home.<\/p>\n
There is no turning back,
\nAnd so I venture forward,
\nThis hidden land a vast expanse,
\nWhich leads to who knows where.<\/p>\n
Head down and eyes half-shut,
\nI place one foot
\nIn front of the other,
\nTrudging on, so slowly.<\/p>\n
Sometime later, I remember
\nA shape in some trees,
\nSunlight through branches,
\nAn opening of some kind?<\/p>\n
And then it flees my memory,
\nAnd there is only ice and snow,
\nWhere the wind battles on,
