There was a girl who took her time in finding her path.
\nShe was free, as far as she was concerned.
\nKnowing she’d find her way eventually,
\nShe felt no urgency.<\/p>\n
Clever and bright,
\nHer wit astounded those around her.
\n“So smart! Think of a career! A doctor! A lawyer!
\nJust use that head and-<\/p>\n
You’ll surely be someone successful.”<\/p>\n
But what was to define success?
\nThe adults would pet the girl’s head
\nAnd praise her ingenuity as she behaved and got good grades
\nAnd though she did not know it:<\/p>\n
This pride would be her undoing.<\/p>\n
What does she do now?
\nHas she chosen something yet?
\nWhat? Why isn’t she in school?
\nWhat’s of her path?<\/p>\n
Odd looks thrown her way –
\nWhy does the girl flit when asked a simple question?<\/p>\n
She does not know.<\/p>\n
Anxiety is
\nCaused in a soul forced to walk
