Eyes always astray<\/p>\n
Awaiting the growth of the<\/p>\n
green green grass<\/p>\n
to mow, to shear away<\/p>\n
Not this year, not this year anyway.<\/p>\n
Maybe it was peace at last? Who knew?<\/p>\n
We both tried to kill it, though<\/p>\n
It’s dying by inches each day.<\/p>\n
You’re my invincible friend<\/p>\n
And my implacable enemy<\/p>\n
But I forget where we were<\/p>\n
Were we trying to forgive?<\/p>\n
Or trying to separate<\/p>\n
So that it will be less sad<\/p>\n
When you disapparate?<\/p>\n
We’ll just wait and see, maybe you’re right.<\/p>\n
And that’s how summer passed<\/p>\n
Without any rain to make the grass green again<\/p>\n
Do I hold on before it’s too late?<\/p>\n
For you I have so many words<\/p>\n
But there’s no point in saying them<\/p>\n
Because you forgot where we were<\/p>\n
Maybe it’s better that way<\/p>\n
Maybe it’s not a place we should try<\/p>\n
To recall, to retain<\/p>\n
