Dear Auden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Auden<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You said they were never wrong<\/p>\n<p>the old masters<\/p>\n<p>but I walk through galleries<\/p>\n<p>and any fool can tell you<\/p>\n<p>all they knew was grief<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Isn\u2019t that wrong?<\/p>\n<p>Shouldn\u2019t there be<\/p>\n<p>somewhere<\/p>\n<p>paintings and sculptures<\/p>\n<p>and music and weavings<\/p>\n<p>filled with light?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>How can I believe in you<\/p>\n<p>the cadence of your art<\/p>\n<p>its own heartbeat, its own darkness<\/p>\n<p>when so much light is just beyond<\/p>\n<p>the boundaries of mastery?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You promise life goes on<\/p>\n<p>at least in the margins, where the boy<\/p>\n<p>fell to earth and the dogs romp<\/p>\n<p>and the horse is altogether happy.<\/p>\n<p>But I walk through galleries<\/p>\n<p>and I will tell you once again:<\/p>\n<p>All I see is grief.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Auden &nbsp; You said they were never wrong the old masters but I walk through galleries and any fool can tell you all they knew was grief &nbsp; Isn\u2019t that wrong?
