{"id":23133,"date":"2016-08-13T17:58:31","date_gmt":"2016-08-13T21:58:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=23133"},"modified":"2016-08-17T17:59:14","modified_gmt":"2016-08-17T21:59:14","slug":"poem-9-escape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2016\/08\/poem-9-escape\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem 9- Escape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Like wood in a jungle of concrete<\/p>\n<p>Is my imagination<\/p>\n<p>Breaking the monotony<\/p>\n<p>Excel sheets, G-cals, bland academic papers<\/p>\n<p>Demand equals supply at the equilibrium price<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My imagination creates disequilibrium<\/p>\n<p>What if the equilibrium choice is not the right choice?<\/p>\n<p>What if\u00a0I escaped?<\/p>\n<p>If I were to step out of the bubble-like glass structure I am in<\/p>\n<p>And examine the grains of wood<\/p>\n<p>What would I discover?<\/p>\n<p>What if I escaped?<\/p>\n<p>Can I escape?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Like wood in a jungle of concrete<\/p>\n<p>Are the vivid memories of my childhood<\/p>\n<p>When my only worries were the next storybook I should read<\/p>\n<p>Whether I wanted chocolate chip or vanilla<\/p>\n<p>When home was where I slept<\/p>\n<p>And the world my playground during the day<\/p>\n<p>I was blissfully ignorant then, I am knowledgeable now<\/p>\n<p>Am I?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The world I live in, the world economists hail as &#8220;perfect&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Is a bit of an anomaly<\/p>\n<p>Am I surrounded by unlimited choices, or none at all?<\/p>\n<p>What if I escaped?<\/p>\n<p>Can I escape?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Like wood in a jungle of concrete Is my imagination Breaking the monotony Excel sheets, G-cals, bland academic papers Demand equals supply at the equilibrium price &nbsp; My imagination creates disequilibrium What if the equilibrium choice is not the right choice?
