Somewhere in the distance there is the promise of some rain,<\/p>\n
Gray clouds are building and moving fast as I watch from my country lane.<\/p>\n
Anticipation is heightened down deep, far into my soul, it abounds;<\/p>\n
I hope it plows straight overhead and doesn’t split and go around.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Gentle breezes soon arrive, \u00a0then their strength they gain,<\/p>\n
Waiting far below are thirsty, golden fields of grain.<\/p>\n
Their bodies dried and cracked waiting for the dark heavens to cry.<\/p>\n
Then comes the jagged, purple lightning against the crooked sky.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by raucous thunder that rocks the depths below,<\/p>\n
Now comes the wicked storm as hoped for, let it blow.<\/p>\n
As now I sit inside looking out at streaks of rain,<\/p>\n
What a beautiful sight racing down my window pane.<\/p>\n
