her tiny, bendable limbs,<\/p>\n
her auburn, embroidery-floss hair?<\/p>\n
And that marvelous cape?<\/p>\n
Remember the calligraphy you penned<\/p>\n
and framed to spur me on in my writing?<\/p>\n
Remember that first taste of shared freedom<\/p>\n
when I visited you at college,<\/p>\n
and you showed me the spot<\/p>\n
where the warmth came up the sidewalk,<\/p>\n
and another where a\u00a0poet riffed\u00a0on the stars.<\/p>\n
We talked until you were hoarse.<\/p>\n
May we never forget<\/p>\n
our latest rain-drenched adventure<\/p>\n
where we soaked to the skin in the woods<\/p>\n
and I finally ruined my dress shoes.<\/p>\n
I love how we fall, sometimes, into<\/p>\n
singularly satisfying conversations–<\/p>\n
explorations\u00a0of ideas,<\/p>\n
musings over an infinite\u00a0map.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The gift of you as my sister, my dear,<\/p>\n
