Left behind.<\/p>\n<p>Grasp slips in cold water<\/p>\n<p>Plunge deeper, scramble up.<\/p>\n<p>Current steals us downstream.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Catch a fallen tree.<\/p>\n<p>Grip the necklace like a rose<\/p>\n<p>And scream.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The fallen tree slips by, no grip<\/p>\n<p>Shadows fall on us from above,<\/p>\n<p>Many hands take hold.<\/p>\n<p>Wings stir air, splash water,<\/p>\n<p>Deliver us.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chapter 9: Escape &nbsp; &nbsp; We leap and hit the water Running.
