A word of thanks to mom.<\/p>\n
I thank my mother for all her nurture and hard work,<\/p>\n
the love and effort she invested in me.<\/p>\n
she invested in me.<\/p>\n
The loving care etc etc<\/p>\n
but thanks is not praise.<\/p>\n
In Praise of Mom.<\/p>\n
Praise is admiration whether it helps me or not,<\/p>\n
and Mom deserves \u00a0a ton of that,<\/p>\n
World champion almost blind lady<\/p>\n
who did so well at home and work<\/p>\n
that people forgot she was blind.<\/p>\n
she shood people out of her kitchen<\/p>\n
because they got in her way,<\/p>\n
and was never embarrassed to ask for help<\/p>\n
to read a recipe or thread a needle.<\/p>\n
most of all she could handle my father,<\/p>\n
when the darkness came over him<\/p>\n
and he could not get unstuck from the negative,<\/p>\n
face to face whe would scold and bully and challenge him<\/p>\n
to be his best<\/p>\n
and so her voice is still in my head<\/p>\n
20 years after her death,<\/p>\n
praising me for my best qualities<\/p>\n
and challenging me to be my best.<\/p>\n
