{"id":24034,"date":"2016-08-13T19:22:46","date_gmt":"2016-08-13T23:22:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=24034"},"modified":"2016-08-13T19:28:31","modified_gmt":"2016-08-13T23:28:31","slug":"poem-11-happy-homeless","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2016\/08\/poem-11-happy-homeless\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem 11 &#8212; Happy &amp; Homeless"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I live on cold concrete,<br \/>\nBut that&#8217;s okay with me.<br \/>\nI am more content than the rich.<br \/>\nI am poor, broke and lonely.<br \/>\nI tried to live in a house,<br \/>\nBut it required too much stress,<br \/>\nI hated buying everything,<br \/>\nI worked and dressed my life to impress.<br \/>\nI bought a sexy, muscular husband,<br \/>\nI decided to buy an expensive car,<br \/>\nI just couldn&#8217;t deal,<br \/>\nMy mind got lost and disappeared far.<br \/>\nI worked and invested my money,<br \/>\nI even saved it in the bank,<br \/>\nBut those dollar signs<br \/>\nMolded me dry like an empty gas tank.<br \/>\nI am happy without money,<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t have to eat,<br \/>\nI travel one area to the next,<br \/>\nAnd be surprised with a good treat.<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t plan to be anything,<br \/>\nNot bold or rich, just boneless,<br \/>\nI am not many things if anything,<br \/>\nI am happy and homeless. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I live on cold concrete, But that&#8217;s okay with me.
