Against the inky canopy, stars flicker as if winking at an unseen moon
\nFlicker in their death throes across the vast expanse of time
\nOne final burst of light to greet the coming dark
\nOne final farewell before black engulfs the sky<\/p>\n
Their dying light echoes, relecting off ripples in black lake waters,
\nRipples that slowly stretch from shore to shore,
\nFragments of energy ever dissapating
\nEver weakening till the surface becomes still as the sky above<\/p>\n
All is quiet now, the glory of silence permeates the landscape,
\nThe stillness settling panic in prey
\nSettling malevolent urges in nocturnal winged predators
\nWater and sky,
\nMouse and owl,
\nMan and beast,
