{"id":25208,"date":"2016-08-13T21:38:49","date_gmt":"2016-08-14T01:38:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=25208"},"modified":"2016-08-13T21:38:49","modified_gmt":"2016-08-14T01:38:49","slug":"13-memengwaa-missing-person","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2016\/08\/13-memengwaa-missing-person\/","title":{"rendered":"#13 &#8211; Memengwaa (Missing Person)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">She lived in East Vancouver,<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">or, Edmonton, or, Winnipeg, or, Toronto<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">She left the Rez when at thirteen.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">Young, thin, single, beautiful and battered.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">It&#8217;s said she met the pig farmer once,<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">but to this day no one knows that for sure.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">She was last seen in two thousand and twelve,<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">in a needle exchange shop in B.C..<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">She asked if she could get needles for a friend.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">Alberta was cold on January 5<sup>th<\/sup>,<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">the baby&#8217;s untimely reception even colder<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">Daddy was dead, frozen in a field,<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">the family claims it was the police, no one knows<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">Mommy was addicted to crack, as too the baby<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">The child lost a child at twelve<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">A picture shows a smile and dark eyes to adore<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">There are only two and the second is blurry<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">She left an unknown life to a life unknown<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">Is she missing?
