It was as her mother had said<\/p>\n
To lead astray the lustful<\/p>\n
However, she was distrustful<\/p>\n
Of the hood that enveloped<\/p>\n
And those habits it developed<\/p>\n
It hid her, of course, saved much<\/p>\n
But its effect was such<\/p>\n
That she was reminded forever<\/p>\n
She must not forget, ever<\/p>\n
A wolf loomed hereabout<\/p>\n
It spoke and it would shout<\/p>\n
A crimson delight for the beast<\/p>\n
As she carried her loved one\u2019s feast<\/p>\n
She knew her tale though<\/p>\n
She knew the end so<\/p>\n
\u201cA woodcutter saved the little red\u201d<\/p>\n
We all know, we\u2019re fed<\/p>\n
All the stories that have run<\/p>\n
The hood saved none, no one<\/p>\n
So I wondered why hide so?<\/p>\n
By Lord, we should by now know<\/p>\n
Make no false defense, hide in no hood<\/p>\n
If a wolf is to come, and that it would<\/p>\n
No shield of your disbelief shall save you<\/p>\n
It will reassure the cowards; true<\/p>\n
But if I dare say<\/p>\n
Shall you be a coward today?<\/p>\n
