I was fondly remembering…<\/p>\n
When I was sixteen<\/p>\n
The mango trees in my backyard<\/p>\n
And the wonderful countryside was so lush and green;<\/p>\n
The untouched beauty of nature,<\/p>\n
The chorus of birds at dawn,<\/p>\n
Beside a beautiful rocky\u00a0waterfall<\/p>\n
And a million shades of sky,<\/p>\n
From spring to autumn \u2013 life was living all four seasons.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Low-growing wild flowers of spring<\/p>\n
Provided\u00a0a soothing\u00a0visual aid,<\/p>\n
The scorching hot sun in the month of May,<\/p>\n
The birds sitting on my porch to quench their thirst,<\/p>\n
The rainy weather and the cold winds,<\/p>\n
And I still remember my slow walk in the snow,<\/p>\n
Autumn leaves scattered all around…<\/p>\n
I always enjoyed writing my name on them.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Look around now,<\/p>\n
There are hardly any trees,<\/p>\n
I listen to the slogan and I read it quite often,<\/p>\n
Let us \u2018Go Green\u2019…<\/p>\n
Trees are replaced by sky touching condominiums,<\/p>\n
Kind gestures are acquired by spacious houses,<\/p>\n
Then we wonder why climate is changing,<\/p>\n
And we term it as \u2018global warming\u2019.<\/p>\n

The tragedy of the farmer,<\/p>\n
As it hardly ever rains,<\/p>\n
Human innovations or technology advancements<\/p>\n
Have conquered the beauty of nature.<\/p>\n
We will never be able to tell our children<\/p>\n
The excitement of climbing a banyan tree,<\/p>\n
Or the divine ecstasy of a peacock dancing in the rain,<\/p>\n
And the benefits of herbs to cure serious ailments,<\/p>\n
