{"id":2601,"date":"2014-08-23T17:00:38","date_gmt":"2014-08-23T21:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=2601"},"modified":"2014-08-23T17:00:49","modified_gmt":"2014-08-23T21:00:49","slug":"poetry-marathon-poem-3-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2014\/08\/poetry-marathon-poem-3-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Poetry Marathon poem #4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Grant me peace.<br \/>\nAllow me<br \/>\nsleep eternal<br \/>\nor another way<br \/>\nout of here<br \/>\nthis dark, this first<br \/>\nforest I called home<br \/>\nadopted<br \/>\nnot birthed.<\/p>\n<p>my departure<br \/>\nwill not burn concrete.<\/p>\n<p>the embers<br \/>\nwill burn<br \/>\nthen fade<br \/>\nas always<br \/>\nred hot to burn<br \/>\nand linger coals<br \/>\nblindly releasing<br \/>\nenergy<br \/>\nin the form<br \/>\nof heat.<\/p>\n<p>Blackened marks, maybe,<br \/>\nbut even they<br \/>\nwill wash away<br \/>\nwith water,<br \/>\nand time<\/p>\n<p>take from me<br \/>\nwhatever you want<br \/>\nfrom<br \/>\nwhatever is left<br \/>\nin the ruins<br \/>\nI won&#8217;t be needing<br \/>\nany<br \/>\nfire sale<br \/>\nif you will.<\/p>\n<p>EVERYTHING MUST GO.<\/p>\n<p>whatever stays,<br \/>\nis lost.<\/p>\n<p>I am Flood,<br \/>\ndestruction<br \/>\npulling under<br \/>\ncurrents<br \/>\nswallowing foreign<br \/>\ndrowning breaths<\/p>\n<p>I have found<br \/>\nthis world<br \/>\nis a haven<br \/>\nfor ignorance.<\/p>\n<p>The mediocre<br \/>\nis inescapable<br \/>\nthe skin<br \/>\nis already<br \/>\nbleeding<\/p>\n<p>run, child,<br \/>\nmaybe you can escape this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grant me peace.
