{"id":26044,"date":"2016-08-13T23:54:39","date_gmt":"2016-08-14T03:54:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=26044"},"modified":"2016-08-13T23:54:39","modified_gmt":"2016-08-14T03:54:39","slug":"foreign-bodies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2016\/08\/foreign-bodies\/","title":{"rendered":"Foreign Bodies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Foreign Bodies<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I heard somewhere \u2013<\/p>\n<p>on CBC*, I think \u2013<\/p>\n<p>that pacemakers<\/p>\n<p>are computerized.<\/p>\n<p>A woman said that<\/p>\n<p>some hacker could<\/p>\n<p>kill her<\/p>\n<p>with a<\/p>\n<p>click<\/p>\n<p>clack<\/p>\n<p>of<\/p>\n<p>buttons.<\/p>\n<p>My therapist<\/p>\n<p>had his<\/p>\n<p>replaced<\/p>\n<p>5 times<\/p>\n<p>because the<\/p>\n<p>doors at the drug store<\/p>\n<p>shorted it out.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When I think about<\/p>\n<p>those foreign pieces<\/p>\n<p>invading a body,<\/p>\n<p>I am forced to admit that<\/p>\n<p>it\u2019s really not that different<\/p>\n<p>from all of the<\/p>\n<p>foreign bodies<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been forced to tolerate<\/p>\n<p>in mine.<\/p>\n<p>(c) R.
