{"id":2618,"date":"2014-08-23T17:02:36","date_gmt":"2014-08-23T21:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=2618"},"modified":"2014-08-23T17:02:36","modified_gmt":"2014-08-23T21:02:36","slug":"poetry-marathon-poem-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2014\/08\/poetry-marathon-poem-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Poetry Marathon poem #5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I should have left already.<br \/>\nPaid my final dues to no one<br \/>\nand escape<br \/>\nthis poison pain<br \/>\nI know courses<br \/>\nthrough my veins as blood.<br \/>\nI cannot escape this in life.<br \/>\nThough chains keep me<br \/>\nbind to something I do not want<br \/>\ndo not hold<br \/>\nsomething that uses my corpse<br \/>\nto walk<br \/>\nand talk<br \/>\na puppet<br \/>\nthat hold its hands<br \/>\n around my heartstrings<br \/>\npulling them out<br \/>\nforcing me to feel<br \/>\nevery moment<br \/>\nvisceral and deep<br \/>\nbefore<br \/>\ncontinuing continuum<br \/>\nof reducing my art<br \/>\nto blood and flesh<br \/>\nsurely sorely given<br \/>\ndigging deep scratches<br \/>\nthat pool and shiver<br \/>\nwrapping bramble vine<br \/>\non contradicting constricts<br \/>\nof understanding<br \/>\nand acceptance.<br \/>\nI am an artist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I should have left already.
