Put on my prettiest dress.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My heart started to beat faster<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cause I knew what this meant.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Will he be up on the roof or <\/strong><\/p>\n

Hammering a wall?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Will he talk to us this time or<\/strong><\/p>\n

Turn away like before?<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we get closer, mama fixes my hair<\/strong><\/p>\n

And I start to squirm and squeal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I try to tell her to let me out<\/strong><\/p>\n

I can walk right up to him and make him see.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Would he notice my pretty bow or <\/strong><\/p>\n

My eyes just like his?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Would he swing me in his arms or <\/strong><\/p>\n

Bend and give me a kiss?<\/strong><\/p>\n

When we start to pass, a man walks over<\/strong><\/p>\n

But he isn\u2019t him, so Mama keeps walking.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can please stop the daily parade.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
