It’s odd because, you see<\/p>\n

I’ve always kept my heart to me.<\/p>\n

I knew my body, heart and mind<\/p>\n

And handled love, cruel and kind<\/p>\n

With empathetic respect<\/p>\n

So no one would suspect<\/p>\n

That even the closest of affairs<\/p>\n

Ended and I didn’t care.<\/p>\n

Love as emotion, I thought it to be,<\/p>\n

Not a state of being, like living free.<\/p>\n

So by the time I understood<\/p>\n

That real love was true and good,<\/p>\n

I was empowered by the thought:<\/p>\n

Love is real. It can’t be bought.<\/p>\n

Love became the lens of feelings<\/p>\n

Leaving all the senses reeling.<\/p>\n

Heart break for me came too late.<\/p>\n

I came to feel that is was fate.<\/p>\n

By exposing your heart to love so true<\/p>\n

Leaves you lonely, sad and blue.<\/p>\n

But exposing your heart to love that’s real,<\/p>\n

Is worth all the feelings that you feel.<\/p>\n
