A medical scare,
\nEmotional disconnection
\nFrom myself
\nFrom my life
\nFrom the goals I set for longevity,
\nUncomfortable discussions exchanged with my doctor.
\nI didn’t want to believe it,
\nI had to hear the truth.
\nChoices,
\nI had none.
\nIt was either live or die.
\nI chose to live.
\nI didn’t want butter, cheese and fried food to snatch me from the beautiful handcrafts of God.
\nI didn’t suspect my favorite greasy foods to be silent killers.
\nI expected to eat what I wanted
\nFOREVER,
\nI KNEW I would live forever,
\nBut that was impossible.
\nI refuse to leave my body without saying goodbye properly,
\nI lived too much to die so soon over nothing.
\nSo I chose to live,
\nTo eat better,
\nWalk away stress
\nAnd take better care of
