Veirdoffus Chuben… who needs it!<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I have so many stories\u00a0all of them true<\/p>\n
most about dogs, \u00a0as I’ve had a few.<\/p>\n
From shepherds to dobies\u00a0and a mixture or two.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Let me start with our shepherd,<\/p>\n
who had a friend Benjy,<\/p>\n
a beagle he knew.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Our dog\u00a0was named,\u00a0Veirdoff,\u00a0one of a kind.<\/p>\n
My mother named him\u00a0or he’d be left behind.<\/p>\n
It’s a deal that we made,\u00a0to take him home.<\/p>\n
That big\u00a0pawed puppy,\u00a0if only we’d known.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“So who needs it?”\u00a0Is the translation, you see;<\/p>\n
a name he would\u00a0carry\u00a0without shame.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Veirdoff was a smart one,\u00a0yet dumb in some ways.<\/p>\n
When his friends came to call,\u00a0he bolted\u00a0like the wind.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This cute puppy grew\u00a0to a beast of a dog<\/p>\n
so his friends learned\u00a0to use his strength.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Let me explain\u00a0a thing or two<\/p>\n
before I divulge,\u00a0what he did.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
One day he came home\u00a0with a large gash<\/p>\n
on his nose\u00a0that didn’t seem to bother him.<\/p>\n
He didn’t complain,\u00a0but\u00a0we called \u00a0anyway.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
His vet said to\u00a0use,\u00a0blah, blah from\u00a0the house<\/span><\/p>\n and it would heal,\u00a0quickly,\u00a0without a bandaid.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To our dismay\u00a0the lesion remained<\/p>\n without getting any better.<\/p>\n Just when we, were\u00a0going\u00a0<\/span>to call for<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n an appointment;\u00a0<\/span>he was spotted,\u00a0across our lawn.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We watched as Benjy\u00a0and a new friend<\/p>\n got\u00a0out of the way,\u00a0for Veirdoff.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lo and behold, there was our dog, brave as can be,<\/p>\n removing a\u00a0metal garbage lid\u00a0with his nose.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n From our neighbor’s,\u00a0<\/span>trash can, no less.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Yes, he used his nose to lift off the lid,<\/p>\n then he put his front paws\u00a0on the side<\/p>\n of the pail,\u00a0to tip it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As soon as it tipped, Benjy and friend<\/p>\n dove in for buffet, while Veirdoff stood<\/p>\n guard,\u00a0behind them.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We watched his escapade<\/p>\n from start to finish<\/p>\n not a scrap did he have<\/p>\n in his mouth.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We opened the door and called him;<\/p>\n his buddies ran, leaving him alone<\/p>\n to face the doggie music.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Of course he could’t clean the mess they made<\/p>\n so we picked up\u00a0the smelly garbage remains.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There’s many a story to be told\u00a0about Veirdoff,<\/p>\n our big boned shepherd,\u00a0a pooch to behold!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Veirdoffus Chuben… who needs it!
