{"id":26859,"date":"2016-08-14T02:26:43","date_gmt":"2016-08-14T06:26:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=26859"},"modified":"2016-08-14T02:26:43","modified_gmt":"2016-08-14T06:26:43","slug":"our-two-rescues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2016\/08\/our-two-rescues\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Two Rescues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Our Two Rescues<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We love our rescues, Qatar and Blacky.<\/p>\n<p>Qatar came from a local rescue.<\/p>\n<p>She is a terrier mix, part miniature Manchester terrier, and part who knows what.<\/p>\n<p>She is mama\u2019s girl, a snuggler who makes you earn her love.<\/p>\n<p>She doesn\u2019t warm up to everybody, but when she does, she\u2019s your lap buddy for life.<\/p>\n<p>She sleeps in our bed (only after I ask her, &#8220;You wanna go night night?),<\/p>\n<p>and snuggles up under the blankies with us.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Blacky was a street dog who started following us on our nightly walks.<\/p>\n<p>He was such a skinny little guy, so we started taking little pieces of bologna with us.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, his trust grew, and he allowed us to pet him, and then he became part of our family.<\/p>\n<p>Six months of heartworm treatment and regular feedings, he is now a healthy black shining beauty, who smiles when he runs.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s dad\u2019s boy and takes every chance to love on him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We love our babies, rescue organizations, and responsible pet parents who spay and neuter.<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Two Rescues We love our rescues, Qatar and Blacky.
