My cardiac muscles<\/p>\n

Pump in and pump out<\/p>\n

Squeezing blood through<\/p>\n

My veins, my arteries<\/p>\n

And then little down the line, my capillaries.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Breathe in. Breathe out.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what they tell me.<\/p>\n

Poking scalpels and doing a by-pass<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the only way I\u2019ll survive they urge.<\/p>\n

So down goes the anesthetic.<\/p>\n

BEEP\u2026\u2026\u2026BEEP\u2026\u2026\u2026.BEEP<\/strong><\/p>\n

Knocked out unconscious<\/p>\n

Nerve signals blocked<\/p>\n

Swimming in thick deep water<\/p>\n

Water like porridge or honey<\/p>\n

Murkiness.<\/p>\n

BEEP\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026BEEP<\/strong><\/p>\n

Heart rate slowed down.<\/p>\n

Haziness.<\/p>\n

Should have studied Biology.<\/p>\n

Painkillers?<\/p>\n

Injections?<\/p>\n

How am I able to think?<\/p>\n
