t began in the year nineteen hundred and twenty,
\nWith many Indian tribes working just to earn a penny.
\nThey set up their tee-pee homes,
\nAnd let the sheep, cow, and buffalo roam.
\nBut then one terrible day,
\nThe government forced them away,
\nFrom the lives they had lived everyday.<\/p>\n
This is what started the tribes hard trip,
\nDown a long and winding trail they whipped.
\nAcross the timbered hills and open prairies they went,
\nMarching through the flat wilderment,
\nThrough the green grass and open spaces they progressed,
\nAs the tribes were very depressed.
\nHowever, they could not stop for a long rest.<\/p>\n
As the tribes endured the long hard struggle,
\nWith many lives lost during the hard, cold, frost,
\nThe tribes’ faith and hope were never lost.
\nDuring difficult times, tribes turned to each other,
\nTo love help, and support one another,
\nSuddenly, a breeze blew through the trees,
\nAs they marched down the trail, it put them at ease.<\/p>\n
Many people put up a brave front,
\nAs they searched for deer and elk to hunt,
\nBut many others continued to fight,
\nTo the surviving children, this was a fright.
\nFor they did not understand,
\nWhen they watched a common man,
\nDie right before their eyes on fruitless land.<\/p>\n
Over time, the journey did pay off,
\nOut west they cleared land, and built the haylofts.
\nA whole new world where livestock was plentiful,
\nChurches were built to confess acts that were sinful.
\nSchools were built to make the children’s future bright.
\nit was a time when people chased the impossible dream,
\nAnd, they worked together as a team,
\nTo make glory and hope the promised end,
