The Beggar<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The beggar, on the street corner,<\/p>\n<p>down on his knees, eyes pleading, beseeching.<\/p>\n<p>Straddled on his shoulder, is a little girl,sweating.<\/p>\n<p>Uncomfortable, sickly and with fever,burning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What a life is this for them?<\/p>\n<p>No food! No clothing! No shelter!<\/p>\n<p>No basic amenities<\/p>\n<p>and no shelter!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What a life is this for them?<\/p>\n<p>Living on leftover,<\/p>\n<p>a few coins thrown in their cup.<\/p>\n<p>Scrummaging forever!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Has our hearts become so hard and common,<\/p>\n<p>that we see the beggar a&#8217;s vermin?<\/p>\n<p>Is it not our responsibility,<\/p>\n<p>to eradicate poverty?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Anwar Suleman<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>5.
