Zillion of years ago<\/p>\n
Taking meds was not a likely habit, even when sick<\/p>\n
I could not take them, even the littlest of them<\/p>\n
they should be pounded to smithereens,<\/p>\n
put in a tablespoon with some water, and voila!<\/p>\n
I’d rather \u00a0accept the pill’s after-taste<\/p>\n
than take it as it is, in its glorious form.<\/p>\n
Our Dad used to give us vitamins to take<\/p>\n
Faked taking it in, then take it out again<\/p>\n
(until it discolored) then to the trash bin.<\/p>\n
Or had to pretend I took it then, again,<\/p>\n
flush it to the commode.<\/p>\n
Dad, the Doubting Thomas, did the unthinkable<\/p>\n
Ensuring the pill entered my body,<\/p>\n
by not leaving my side until the deed is done. Bright!<\/p>\n
Oh how I hate meds!!<\/p>\n
The Pill took it all in stride<\/p>\n
Little by little, it wormed unto my system by way of<\/p>\n
a pulled tooth? a menstrual cramp? birth control?<\/p>\n
thyroid removal? and arthritic attack?<\/p>\n
I cannot say no to the Pills nowadays<\/p>\n
I came to realize their uses, their purpose, their aim<\/p>\n
Bowing to the big P<\/p>\n
Accepted that they’re here to stay (I have 6 of them regularly)<\/p>\n
