{"id":31615,"date":"2017-08-05T09:31:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-05T13:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=31615"},"modified":"2017-08-05T11:17:05","modified_gmt":"2017-08-05T15:17:05","slug":"prompt-one-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/prompt-one-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Hour one"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prompt one 9 am Write a poem in which the four elements (Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water) play an important part.<\/p>\n<p>Elements<\/p>\n<p>By Patricia Harris<\/p>\n<p>Earth to ground me,<\/p>\n<p>All around me.<\/p>\n<p>Solid, \u00a0comforting,<\/p>\n<p>Affected by all I see,<\/p>\n<p>The comfort of me.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Air to cool me,<\/p>\n<p>Lift me up,<\/p>\n<p>Release the stress<\/p>\n<p>Carried away,<\/p>\n<p>Just to deal with<\/p>\n<p>Some other day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fire,<\/p>\n<p>For passion,<\/p>\n<p>Love, \u00a0lust, \u00a0and anger,<\/p>\n<p>Burns away the darkness,<\/p>\n<p>Setting the imagination<\/p>\n<p>Blazing with so many ideas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Water,<\/p>\n<p>Churning emotional tides,<\/p>\n<p>Soft soothing depths in which to hide.<\/p>\n<p>Washing away all my sins,<\/p>\n<p>Keeping me sure and clean within<\/p>\n<p>As it all starts over again.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And lastly, \u00a0never least,<\/p>\n<p>The element of spirit<\/p>\n<p>Both divine and the one within,<\/p>\n<p>A connection with the universe<\/p>\n<p>Blessed and perverse,<\/p>\n<p>Combining all elements<\/p>\n<p>To a song and verse.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prompt one 9 am Write a poem in which the four elements (Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water) play an important part.
