poem #2
\nyearning for you<\/p>\n
we reached for the paper cup at the same time
\nour hands slightly brushing against each other
\nnicely apologizing
\nI noticed your full smile right away
\nsmooth brown skin and full lips and I smiled too<\/p>\n
then several minutes later we were easily conversing
\nI remember picking up a fork but not really needing it at all
\nand realizing quickly that I was spun-
\nmindlessly letting the world fade away
\nwhile I stood lost in your eyes.<\/p>\n
what is happening? I thought to myself
\nbut the wave had begun.
\nnow so many years later, I realize it can still engulf me-
\nthat wave of yearning
\nfall over me like chocolate explodes in my mouth-
\ntakes me instantly to some happy place in my head,
\nmy heart-
\nmy soul;
\nno matter how hard I tried, I could never quite fully
