{"id":3296,"date":"2014-08-23T21:11:50","date_gmt":"2014-08-24T01:11:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=3296"},"modified":"2014-08-23T21:11:50","modified_gmt":"2014-08-24T01:11:50","slug":"seven-ages","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2014\/08\/seven-ages\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cSeven Ages\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Stranger Across A Crowded Room,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I feel like I\u2019ve known you all my life.<\/p>\n<p>Through the mass of bodies,<\/p>\n<p>Our eyes did meet.<\/p>\n<p>And in that glance, I just knew,<\/p>\n<p>What our future would be.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll glide across,<\/p>\n<p>And introduce myself.<\/p>\n<p>Awkward as usual,<\/p>\n<p>Yet, you\u2019ll laugh at my jokes.<\/p>\n<p>Like every clich\u00e9 in the world,<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll share a lifetime\u2019s history,<\/p>\n<p>Compressed in a few brief hours.<\/p>\n<p>Then comes that moment,<\/p>\n<p>Fraught with uncertainty,<\/p>\n<p>When we linger,<\/p>\n<p>Not willing to part,<\/p>\n<p>Not wanting to end.<\/p>\n<p>But I\u2019ll be bold as I\u2019ve been all evening.<\/p>\n<p>And I\u2019ll say, \u201cPlease stay, let\u2019s never part.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then hand in hand, we\u2019ll stroll.<\/p>\n<p>Off into a new dawn.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I reach you at last, and smile.<\/p>\n<p>Laughing gaily,<\/p>\n<p>You point and say,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour fly\u2019s undone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Oh, well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Best regards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Stranger Across A Crowded Room, &nbsp; I feel like I\u2019ve known you all my life.
