Like rain drops falling from the sky,<\/p>\n
they appear at my house.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve looked at my door,<\/p>\n
To see if there is some special mark,<\/p>\n
Like the hobos of old made<\/p>\n
For friendly stops<\/p>\n
Of course, I find none, knew I wouldn\u2019t,<\/p>\n
they know just the same.<\/p>\n
A friend in times of need lives here.<\/p>\n
Some are just passing through,<\/p>\n
Others, too sick or too tired, stay.<\/p>\n
With that special vision they have,<\/p>\n
cats know where a friend lives.<\/p>\n
Those that stay I rename with<\/p>\n
One they reveal to me.<\/p>\n
I give them all the same middle name \u2013 Lucky.<\/p>\n
All their needs are met, by me and by the vet.<\/p>\n
I provide unconditional love and peace,<\/p>\n
And the vet, she does her thing too.<\/p>\n
Sometimes they linger and grow healthy,<\/p>\n
other times they just linger for the hospice.<\/p>\n
Either way, I love them all,<\/p>\n
