St Lucy\u2019s bells ring out this noon:
\nA sluggish Saturday, a bummer.
\nMy mandolin is out of tune.<\/p>\n
A long slow crawl past May and June,
\nPast hot dogs, burgers, to late summer,
\nTo this tame time, this sad-faced noon.<\/p>\n
Drenched are the rooftops of this town:
\nMy new home, fortyish latecomer
\nSick of the city’s strident tune.<\/p>\n
Tonight the clouds will balk the moon,
\nChoke off its glow, that dulcet glimmer
\nLike music from a silver bell. This noon<\/p>\n
Finds me indoors, dry as a dune.
\nRain beats time on the roof, dull drummer.
\nI pluck my harp. It\u2019s out of tune.<\/p>\n
I\u2019d sing. I\u2019d yodel, hum, or croon.
\nI\u2019d blare the Jam, the Damned, Joe Strummer:
\nBut bells bemoan this rainy noon,
